Our mission is “Cultivating a thriving community, together.” That word “together,” means we push up our sleeves too! In 2023, our Midcoast FCU employees served 3,236 volunteer hours on local committees and school organizations, in food banks, community kitchens, and community gardens, and worked countless local community events.

Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger

The Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger is a 501(c)(3), which means all contributions are Tax-Deductible! 2024 marks the 34th year of the Campaign.

Midcoast FCU supports this campaign and several local organizations’ food assistance programs through donations and employee volunteer efforts. 100% of each dollar raised through this donation link is returned to assist the following organizations in our Mid Coast communities:

We Helped at Morse HS “Set for Success” event!

Taylor, Beany, and Katherine volunteered at the “Set for Success” event at Morse high School in Bath. They helped organize the donations and set up stations for over 650 students to receive backpacks and other important school supplies needed for a happy school year.

Tena and Janet volunteered at Bath Kindness Day! They kindly handed out delicious lemonade, coloring books, a bookmark craft, and big smiles to all participants.

Team Midcoast was all smiles handing out Midcoast water bottles, fun activity books, and financial education materials to the participating children at Freeport Community Services’ Community Day and Backpack Giveaway!

We Bowled for Kid’s Sake!

Midcoast “Bowling Buddies” Krista, April, Amanda, Alan, Lawson, and Reeva participated in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine’s “Bowl For Kids’ Sake” 2024 fund raiser in Waldoboro! The event raised money to support 1-to-1 mentoring programs for local youth facing adversity.

We Scooped at the Scoop-a-thon!

Mackenzie volunteered to be a “celebrity scooper” at the annual Scoop-a-Thon Fund-Raiser for the Brunswick Area Teen Center. The event was hosted at Gelato Fiasco in Brunswick. A portion of the sales made during her “shift” were donated to the teen center.

Financial Fair

We Helped at Morse HS Financial Fitness Fair!

Neeley, Tena, Shannon, Elizabeth, Taylor, and Chandra volunteered at the Financial Fitness Fair at Morse high School in Bath. They participated in a budgeting simulation experience for the students, with stations set up to represent real-life examples of potential careers, incomes, and housing. Unexpected costs, and financial curveballs were added to help the students learn about managing a budget.

We Helped at the “Freeze Out” in Freeport!

Team Midcoast was “Freezin’ for a Reason” at the annual “Freeze Out” event in Freeport to help raise funds for Freeport Community Services’ food programs. They wore fun food related costumes and big smiles as they canvassed the town seeking donations!

We Helped at MYC’s “Set for Success”

Felicia, Karen, Elizabeth, Kathy, and Lisa volunteered at Maine Youth Center’s “Set for Success Day!” They did fun “hand painting” and provided school supplies and financial literacy information for the participants.

We Helped at People Plus in Brunswick!

Melissa had a busy day volunteering at People Plus in Brunswick. She ran their 50/50 raffle, assisted in the food line, and did cleanup and table/chair breakdown after lunch, all with that big smile on her face.
